My name is Maricar, and I’m the person behind this little corner of the calligraphy world on a mission to ignite your creativity and make the beauty of brush lettering accessible to you.
I’ve created this space with a single, powerful belief in mind: that each of us has the potential to be creative and that there is a unique artist within us waiting to be discovered.
When I’m not in my little art studio, I often hang out with my three furry companions – Summer, Winter, and Sunday. They are my fur babies, and spending time with them brings an extra dose of joy and inspiration to my life.
My Story
Once upon a time, I worked as an Engineer, and let me tell you, it was a demanding and stressful job. The constant pressure, tight deadlines, and anxiety had me searching for an escape, a way to unwind and relax after each exhausting day at work.
That’s when I stumbled upon calligraphy. With the help of online resources, I embarked on a self-taught calligraphy journey. I quickly fell in love with it, not just for its visual charm but also for its ability to calm the mind and relieve stress.
As I practiced and studied more, calligraphy became more than a skill; it became a sanctuary during stressful times and a creative outlet that helped me express myself in ways I never thought possible. In this digital world, creating something tangible became my therapy.
In 2018, I decided to create my art account for the sole purpose of documenting my progress. Little did I know it would lead to something bigger. As I shared my artwork, I began to connect with a global community of calligraphy enthusiasts who shared my passion. That’s when I discovered my true purpose – teaching calligraphy to others.
Why I Do What I Do
